A me, perchè ne approfitto per raccontare qualcosa sulla mia persona e sui principi ispiratori del blog.

 So I present myself.

My name is Emanuel, I am 23 years old, and I study Political Sciences  in the wonderful University of Pavia, in Northern Italy. I live near the city that is an historical jewel: there are a lot of ancients churches, a castle, many olds towers, and so on. We also have the fortune to have as a guest Saint Augustine, one of the giant of Christianity, in the church of San Pietro in Ciel d’Oro.

I like Communion and Liberation, the Catholic movement founded by Father Luigi Giussani and nowadays spread not only in Italy, but in any part of the world (Europe, USA, Canada, South America,…)

I am keen on politics, I support Freedom People, wich is the most important Right party, leaded by the Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

I like sport, reading and watching films.

 

Dunque, mi presento. 

Mi chiamo Emanuel, ho 23 anni e studio di Scienze Politiche nella splendida Università di Pavia, abito in Provincia.

Simpatizzo per Comunione e Liberazione, il movimento ecclesiale fondato da Mons. Giussani.

Passioni: innanzitutto, la politica, sia teorica (in particolare Diritto Costituzionale e Scienza Politica), sia pratica (soprattutto a livello universitario).Supporter di Forza Italia e del Popolo della Libertà, in modo appassionato e, quando serve critico (nel senso positivo del termine). 

Altre passioni: lettura, attualità, film, sport (per la verità soprattutto guardato…).

 

ABOUT THIS BLOG…

 

Perhaps, you asked yourself what was the meaning of the title: At that time.

It’s a very cited phrase in the Bible, where it’s often used as a  beginnning (e.i.: In that time Jesus said...).

I chose it because it expresses the central element of Christianity: the fact that God became a man and He is present in the time.

Chrisitanity is the only Religion wich can affirme that.

Our God has a personal meeting with us, and He reveals Himself as a being made of flesh and blood.

This is why the subtitle is a citation of Fhater Luigi Giussani from his book Is it possible to live this way?:

People don’t start from words, but are touched by a presence. 

 

Forse alcuni di voi si saranno chiesti il perchè di questo strano titolo: In quel tempo.

Si tratta di una frase che compare spesso nella Bibbia e nei Vangeli, dove viene usata come incipit (es.: In quel tempo Gesù disse:….).

Ho pensato di sceglierla perchè esprime bene l’elemento principale del Cristianesimo: cioè che Dio si è fatto uomo, ha assunto la nostra carne mortale, si è calato, appunto, nel tempo.

Il Cristianesimo è l’unica religione al mondo che può fare una simile affermazione.

Gli ebrei, ad es., non potranno mai dire: in quel tempo, Jhavè andò nella tal strada, fece il tal miracolo toccando il tal malato, tenne il tal discorso sul tal monte. Così neanche gli islamici, nè i seguaci dello shintoismo, del buddhismo o dell’induismo.

Il Nostro Dio, invece si rivela in un Incontro personale, fatto di carne e di sangue.

Non a caso trovate come sottotitolo una frase tratta dal libro di Mons. Giussani Si può vivere così?:

la gente non parte dai discorsi, ma è colpita da una presenza.  

 

 

 

 The phrase is strongly linked to the picture of Caravaggio, Conversione of Saint Mathew: Christ fixes Mathew and points at him, not for condeming him but for inviting him: Mathew, follow Me!

  In this way, Jesus becomes the center of Mathew’s life, who leaves everithing and founds his existence on Him. He becomes the polar star, the measure of all things. 

Nothing is excluded from the relation with Him.

You may be amazed on seing that this blog is concerned not only with spirituality or theology, but also with politics or topical. This frame is linked with the fact that Jesus is related with all the reality, without reductionisms.

 

La quale fa pendant col quadro che trovate raffigurato: la Conversione di San Matteo del Caravaggio: il Cristo fissa Matteo, puntando un indice non accusatorio, bensì invitatorio, se così si può dire: Matteo, seguimi!

In questo modo, Gesù diventa il centro della vita di Matteo, che abbandona tutto e rifonda la sua esistenza su di Lui. Egli diventa il metro di tutto, la stella polare.  

Niente, nessun aspetto della realtà è escluso dal confronto e dal rapporto con Lui 

Forse resterete stupiti dal fatto che questo blog, pur con un’ispirazione cristiana, non si occupa solo di spiritualità o di teologia, ma questa scelta deriva proprio dal fatto che Gesù Cristo c’entra con tutta la realtà, come dicevo sopra, senza riduzionismi.
